Without any doubts, the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have won all the valuable trophies in football and are actually close to retirement because they’re grown and as always, one has to retire due to old age.
The three brightest young footballers right now are Mbappe, Rashford and Haaland. If Vinicius Jr is incorporated into that group, those four players are ones to keep a watchful eye on in the future. One of them or may be all will surely go down in history as a legend, or more likely as one of the best, if he throws everything he has.
The only exception is that Mbappe has complete leverage over games compared to other players and is willing to take responsibility for altering the outcome of the game as well. Rashford, who boasts the same talent, often appears disoriented when matters don’t go in his favor. The thing he has to emphasise and overcome is this psychological barrier. His only vulnerability, the ability to score with the head, used to be something he addressed awhile back.
Ronaldo, who was considered an expert for his goal-scoring prowess, appears to have had a larger impact, and Rashford undoubtedly managed to learn something from his seasoned heroes. Rashford will need to navigate through a psychological hurdle—the propensity to lose interest when things don’t go as planned. He was completely lost and appeared a little frail last season, but this year he is more incredibly passionate and self-assured.
When the team is floundering and underperforming, he must take control of it. When his team was having trouble, Mbappe exhibited that he was never reluctant to come up with innovative solutions by himself. Rashford hadn’t previously displayed something roughly similar. When the team is finding it tough, he experiences the urge to generate offence himself.
Apart from that, I do not perceive any disparities in terms of competency because both players are quite quick and naturally talented. However, Rashford has yet to win his first meaningful piece of silverware, while Mbappe has won multiple accolades throughout his career. Rashford will be nearly unstoppable once this barrier is stripped away, but it will require a fantastic team and an excellent manager to do this.
Our modern day scoring machine, Erling Halland who is actually on the verge of setting a breaking premier league records in his very first EPL season is always a favourite when it comes to the next goats debate but unfortunately for him, his country, Norway isn’t strong enough to compete to such tough international competitions like the world cup. Do you Halland can win the balon Dior with just his stats at the club level?
If these three fail to become the next goats, the very few options left will be Jamal Musiala, Jude Bellingham, Pedri or Gavi.
Which two young players do you think can become the next Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?
