The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has admonished opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to apologize to the Judiciary, Electoral Commission (EC) and Ghanaians over the recent revelations by the newly elected Chairman of the party, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah while campaigning to delegates of his party revealed that the NDC had no concrete evidence when it went to the Supreme Court to challenge the 2020 Presidential election results as declared by the EC.
The NPP, in a press statement, is demanding an unqualified apology from the NDC for exhibiting what they termed as “unpatriotic and disgraceful conduct”.
“The Ghanaian public would bare us witness to audios and video on circulation in which Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the NDC, admits the leadership of the Party knew had lost the 2020 General Elections, yet, still went ahead to deceived their supporters and lie to the Ghanaians people that the election was rigged.
“The NPP had hoped that the NDC would have used the occasion of their Congress to render an unqualified apology to the nation’s Judiciary and the people of Ghana for such unpatriotic and disgraceful conduct, which portends a great danger to our democracy and stability of our country”, the statement read.
