Gold Stars top betPawa Premier League table with 1-0 win over RTU today

Bibiani Gold Stars moved top of the stairs as the betPawa Premier League resumed with two matches this afternoon.

The Miners defeated Real Tamale United (RTU), 1-0 at home in a game played at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani.

Ibrahim Laar scored the lone goal of the game in the 29th minute to hand Gold Stars their fifth win of the 2022/23 campaign as the season resumed with the Matchday Nine fixtures.

They top the standing with 16 points from the nine matches they have played, level on points with Aduana FC who play on Wednesday.

RTU, are 12th on the ladder with 11 points, going into their next game at the weekend.

In the other game played on Monday, Accra Lions drew 1-1 with FC Samartex 1996 in a fixture played at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.

Giyasu Ibrahim opened the scoring for Samartex in the 11th minute as they looked for their third win of the campaign.

However, Hagan Frimpong, levelled for the home side in the 40th minute as they shared the spoils in the Volta region.

Accra Lions are third on the table also with 16 points with FC Samartex in 11th position with 11 points from the nine matches they have played.

The league will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at all centers nationwide.
