In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Gucci shared how he got the opportunity to travel and work in the UK without a travel agent or ‘connection man,’ as many call it. Gucci noted that social media and the internet helped him secure a job in the UK.
Speaking about his job, Gucci disclosed that he works as a carer and earns about 2500 pounds (GHS38k) monthly.
“I came here to work, and I went straight into it as soon as I arrived. We’ll meet friends later. My first salary was more than 2500 pounds because I didn’t take off days. For the two months I’ve been here, I have received over 5000 pounds.
Immediately I got that, I left my brother’s house. I’ve got my place now, and I pay about 400 pounds a month.”
According to Gucci, he is with his job and would not mind retiring in the health sector because “the amount I made in Dubai can’t be compared to what I make here. I can survive on the money I make in care work. I can do it till I’m 70.”
Gucci is known for his funny reactions to foreign cultures on social media. He has lived in Dubai, Ukraine and is currently in the UK.
