My Mining Activities Don’t Destroy Water Bodies – Okobeng CEO

The chief executive of Okobeng mining , in the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira municipality in the western region, Nana Okobeng Amponsah, is distraught about speculations that his mining activities destroy water bodies in the area.

Nana Okobeng Amponsah in response to the vile speculation said, “for those spreading the falsehood with the intention of seeing my back, I have news for you. I am not a galamseyer, I don’t even do alluvial mining. I mine large-scale and my mining activities do not destroy water bodies.”

According to Nana Okobeng, people, for their own parochial interest, have targeted him for destruction, because “my wife contested them during the NPP primaries. They are scared that my wife will win should she decide to contest again, they have failed their constituents.”

The Okobeng mining CEO added that those who want to see his back are envious of his achievement, especially now that it has become glaring that their machinations against his person and business interests are not working.

The CEO cautioned that “Those who want to destroy me should get their facts right. I don’t do illegal mining, so I cannot destroy water bodies. My competes with international companies so best and standard practise is our hallmark.”

Also Okobeng indicated that he comes from the area where his mines and knows the devastating effects the polluted water bodies are having on the people and would therefore be the last person to add to the woes of his people.

He said,” I come from the Evalue Ajomoro area and Dominase is where my concession is. Everyone who cares to know can come and check. I don’t do galamsey.
