Asante Kotoko midfielder Sheriff Mohammed returns to training after long injury layoff

Asante Kotoko multifunctional midfielder, Sheriff Mohammed had returned to training after seven months out with a fracture to his fibula.

The player, missed the tail end of last season as Asante Kotoko won the Ghana Premier League, GPL title for a record extending 24th time.

Mohammed, prior to his injury, was a key influencer for the Porcupines as Coach Prosper Ogum guided them to the title.

The return to training of the utility player, will be good news to the Porcupine faithful ahead of the continuation of the betPawa Premier League next week.

The club’s medical team has given him the all clear to return to training.

And, he trained with the Asante Kotoko team on Monday, and the player will look to impress the technical team members, hoping to get into the squad for the reminder of the campaign.

Asante Kotoko will play Berekum Chelsea in a home game in Kumasi when the league resumes with the Matchday Nine fixtures next week.

They are third on the table behind after eight matches as they chase a second league title in succession.
