Spanish international of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams has cried foul over his country’s elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Spanish who are 2010 FIFA World Cup champions shockingly got kicked out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after African side, Morocco elimination.
The tie ended goalless after the full time with the extra time of the game ending goalless as well moving into the penalty shootouts.
The Spanish national men’s team shockingly miss kicked all their three penalty kicks with Morocco wasting one and scoring three out of their spot kicks.
The result meant Morocco booked a quarter final spot for the first time in the country’s history and they join Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana as the only African countries to have reached that level.
Nico Williams was left distraught after the country’s elimination from the World Cup.
“Difficult moments. Impossible to explain in words our feelings after yesterday’s elimination.
I return home screwed but with the peace of mind of having given everything in each training session and in each game for this TEAM. This will certainly make us stronger. We will be back.” Nico Williams tweeted.
