2022 FIFA World Cup Team of the Week, After Round 16

The first knockout stage (round 16) of the 2022 FIFA World Cup is finally behind us – as Portugal raised the bar on Tuesday at Lusail Iconic Stadium against Switzerland in six goals thrilling result.

Put together the most remarkable team and individual performances – as the Team of the Week.

With multiple features – Brazil, Netherlands and Portugal earned combined spots of six, while Japan, Spain, Morocco, Argentina and France, saw one each.

Made history with the first hat-trick in the FIFA World Cup knockout stage since 1990, when Tomas Skuhrary bagged three goals for Czechoslovakia against Costa Rica – Portuguese starlet Goncalo Ramos was named the Star Player Of The Week.

The 21-year-old SL Benfica forward together with teammates Raphael Guerreiro, Pepe and Rafael Leao’s goals helped his side reach the quarterfinals for the first time in 2006.

France brace hero – Kylian Mbappe, and Netherland’s Denzel Dumfries, who scored a goal and assisted twice, were the other impressive stars who made the team as well.
