Nigerian rappers who felt belittled by Wizkid’s assertion that the rap genre was dead and that rappers were just recycling old flows criticized and retaliated against him.
Rappers such as Oladips, Ladipoe, Blaqbonez, MI Abaga, and others responded to the comments with varying degrees of decorum.
Oladips in particular gave the Come Closer hitmaker a share rebuttal that added to the ranging conversation. Wizkid, who has reportedly been reading the responses, called them “broke boys” who he couldn’t care less about on his Snapchat.
