The Black Stars of Ghana will open their Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against Portugal on Thursday, November at the 974 Stadium.
The Black Stars are making their fourth FIFA World Cup appearance after their debut in the 2006 edition held in Germany.
The 2006 edition held in Germany ended in a round 16th place finish for the Black Stars of Ghana much to the happiness of Ghanaians.
The next edition where Ghana appeared was in the 2010 edition in South Africa where there was an improved performance from fhe 2006 edition.
The Black Stars of Ghana were able to qualify from the group stage and progressed into the other phases of the competition and finished at the quarter final stage.
The feat has been Ghana’s best result up until date when they were eliminated by Uruguay via the penalty shootouts.
The Black Stars made another appearance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup edition in Brazil but were eliminated at the group stage of the competition.
