I am a 28 years old man from Atwima Koforidua, I started studying electrical work after completing school, one day one of my colleagues introduced me to a lady named Ama, she also learned hairdressing at that time. After we all completed learning the skills, I went to meet her relatives to perform her knocking ceremony.
A few months later, Ama got pregnant, we were both very happy to welcome our new baby but my fiancee didn’t have it easy during the pregnancy period. When Ama was nine months old, she began complaining of chest pains, but she lost consciousness. I rushed her to the hospital for treatment but the doctors performed surgery to deliver the baby.
Two weeks after giving birth, my fiancee developed swollen face and feet. I was concerned about Ama’s condition, so I informed her sister who was in Accra about the lady’s condition. Her sister also convinced that I should send Ama to Accra so that she could take care of her.
I agreed with her, took a car and went to Accra. When my sister-in-law saw Ama’s condition, she accused me of trying to kill her because they all thought that she will die within few days. They prevented me from returning to my hometown, Ama’s sister told me to take care of her until she recovered before allowing me to return to my hometown. For the love I have for my fiancée, I stayed there and she was admitted to the 37 Military Hospital for two months.
I have to stay with the lady all day, after she was discharged, I couldn’t offer to pay the Ghc4000 bills given to us. Her sister has to take out a loan to pay those bills before we get home. I thought Ama was cured of the disease but a week later my fiancé started complaining of chest pains again, her relatives then sent her to a prayer camp, we spent three weeks there too but she didn’t recover.
The pastor then revealed the truth to us that the disease is beyond his control so we have to send her back to the hospital. The sad thing is, none of us have the money to send Ama back to the hospital for medical treatment. I am pleading with the general public to help me financially to seek treatment for my fiancée.
