Daniel Afriyie Barnieh made his first start for the Black Stars in the friendly game against Switzerland as part of preparations for the World Cup tournament.
Coach for Accra Hearts of Oak, Slavko Matic has openly admitted that the club might have seen the last of Barnieh in an Accra Hearts of Oak jersey after his performance with the national team.
Barnieh will be out of contract at Accra Hearts of Oak in January and it has been rumoured that clubs across Europe have been keeping tabs on the player’s development.
Coach Slavko Matic said “I am not expecting Afriyie Barnieh back at Hearts of Oak after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
It is yet to be known which club the player would sign for when his contract expires with Accra Hearts of Oak.
