Rocky Dawuni lands third Grammy nomination » ™

Nominees for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards have been released, and Ghana’s very own Rocky Dawuni is on the list.

Nominated for Best Global Performance at this year’s Grammy Awards is this Ghanaian artist who performs Afrobeat, Highlife, and Soul music in his song “Neva Bow Down,” which also features Blvk H3ro.

Along with “Udhero Na,” Arooj Aftab, and Anoushka Shankar, he has been nominated for a Grammy. Bayethe by Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode; “Gimme Love” by Matt B and Eddy Kenzo; “Last Last” by Burna Boy;

His CD, “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1,” was nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Global Album” last year.

He was up against Nigerian artist Wizkid, whose ‘Made In Lagos’ album also earned him a nomination.

There are other artists like Daniel Ho & Friends, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Made Kuti under the Global Album section.

The Ghanaian performer had his sixth studio album, titled “Branches of the Same Tree,” nominated for a Grammy in 2015 for Best Reggae Album.

The vocalist of “Black Star” became the first Ghanaian to get a Grammy nomination with this honor.
