Andy Appiah, Member of Parliament for Asante-Akyem North, has applauded the dismissal of Deputy Finance Minister Charles Adu Boahen.
Mr. Appiah Kubih is the spokesperson for the Parliamentary Majority demanding for the resignation of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and his deputy, Adu Boahen.
Mr Appiah-Kubi stated on TV3’s midday broadcast on Monday, November 14, 2022, that the measure was vital to save the government and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“We are pleased that the president has heeded the requests.” We anticipate that the second will do the same. We need to preserve our party, our government, and ourselves.
President Akufo-Addo fired Mr Adu Boahen on Monday, November 14.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has terminated the appointment of Mr. Charles Adu Boahen as Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, with immediate effect.”
“After learning of the charges leveled against the Minister in the exposé ‘Galamsey Economy,’ the President conferred with Mr. Adu Boahen and decided to terminate his position as well as submit the case to the Special Prosecutor for further inquiry.”
“The President congratulated Mr. Adu Boahen for his strong contributions to his administration since his appointment in 2017, and wished him well in his future endeavors,” the Presidency’s Director of Communications, Mr Eugene Arhin, said in a statement on Monday, November 14.
