Former Black Stars and Accra Great Olympics player, Laryea Kingston has finally opened up on what he felt when he was omitted from the Black Stars squad list for the 2010 World Cup tournament.
Laryea Kingston was one of the most influential players at that time and a key leader of the team. He was also part of the 2006 squad that traveled to Germany for Ghana’s first world cup appearance and hence, his omission was a big controversial decision.
The team from Ghana produced one of the most impressive runs in the country’s history and therefore Laryea Kingston’s omission was soon forgotten.
In his reaction after he was left out of the squad for the World Cup, Laryea Kingston said “He killed me because I thought that was my last tournament for the national team.”
Ghana is up for another world cup challenge and Coach Otto Addo is expected to name his World Cup today.
