“There Are no Quality Players in The Ghana League” – Former Hearts Chairman

Renowned football administrator, Harry Zakour has said that, the level of player quality in the Ghana Premier League has reduced.

Only three local players have been named in the Black Stars 55-man provisional FIFA World Cup squad.

Hearts of Oak duo of Dennis Korsah, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim were named in the initial list that will be pruned down to 26.

Zakour says the level of quality players in the domestic league is not up to the required standard.

“There are no good quality of players in the country at the moment.

“I will say if you look at what the Black Stars are doing at the moment, all our quality players are playing outside.

“You know the facilities in the country are very poor.

“And it’s part of the economy but things will be ok soon, let’s cross our fingers and that’s not the end of football.

“I think they government has to sit in and has to reduce the GRA so that the clubs can pay the players well.” Harry Zakour told Radio Gold Ralk Sport.
