Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has launched a new initiative called “Operation Feed Ourselves”.
The actor who doubles as a revered farmer and entrepreneur published the news of the successful launch of the initiative via Facebook.
The fundamental reason for the initiative is to produce foodstuff especially rice in Ghana, specifically Guan District and the Northern part of Ghana, tomatoes, onions among other things in other parts of the country.
The initiative also has a paramount importance of motivating the Ghanaian citizens to place much priority in consuming in what is made in the country “Made In Ghana” after adding value to it.
He is hoping that in the next six years to come, the initiative will reduce rice,tomatoes,onions imports by 50%.
John Dumelo called on all necessary stakeholders to come on board with all hands, to make the initiative attain its expected goal.
“I’m happy to launch the “Operation Feed Ourselves” initiative this morning. The main focus of this initiative is to produce more foodstuff especially rice( from the Guan district and Northern parts of Ghana), tomatoes, onions and maize from other parts of the country. Another important aspect is to urge Ghanaians to add value to what we produce and consume Made in Ghana products. Hopefully this initiative will reduce our rice,tomatoes, and onions imports by 50% in the next 6 years. Lets us all join hands to make this work. It’s a great time to be a farmer.
