As the popular saying goes; ‘when all hell breaks loose, all people are found standing in their sleeps’. Ghanaians; current driven by these recent day’s difficulties have all been standing in their sleeps since live went bad in Ghana.
Though the difficult situations in Ghana today has kept the wholes nation in a state of total confusion, it isn’t every Ghanaian that have interest in expressing views.
As these current economic crises advances, we have also seen and heard many Ghanaians experts, expressing their views. Whiles some speak; and outlining the causes of Ghana current problems, others also do well by suggesting solutions, to our woes.
One of these notable Ghanaians who added their voices to the ongoing economic break-down, is One of Ghana’s most renowned playwrights, Mr. James Ebo Whyte, (popularly known) as Uncle Ebo Whyte, known as,
According to Ebo Whyte, our nation Ghana has been cursed with leaders who only care about amassing wealth.
Speaking on ShowBiz Round-table organised by Joy Entertainment at the Labadi Beach Hotel, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, Mr. Ebo Whyte explained that, “over the years, he has observed that the country has not been blessed with leaders, who care about how the country would progress; but rather with leaders who look at their pockets first”.
He expressed worries, saying; “he is suspicious of anyone who spends more to get a job for which you will be paid less than what is put in. To get to Parliament, for instance, you would spend so much that if all you were coming in it for salary and ex-gratia, it would come nowhere near what you invested in it and yet people are prepared to die for it. Meaning that we are not coming because of what you think we are coming, we have seen something that maybe we cannot tell you about, but it is there and we are coming to get”.
Again, Uncle Ebo said he hoped that “a day will come when a government will focus on the creative industry as its legacy’.
The truth of the matter is…the current state of Ghana has its root from January 2017, when the Nana Addo-Bawumia Ken Ofori Atta government came to power. we have seen many governments, and political parties; but even with that, Ghana has never experiences such ‘failed’ and ‘cursed government and political party like the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by President Nana Addo.
