Hot Reactions As Okudzeto Ablakwa Reveals A Document Proving Nana Addo’s Government Is Losing It

A known member of Parliament and a ranking member of the National Democratic Congress has once again raised a huge scare on social media [Facebook] with his post on how the Nana Addo-Bawumia-led administration is losing it all on the international front.

Ghana’s international donor partners are fast losing confidence in the current Akufo-Addo/Bawumia leadership.

The massive corruption and acute lack of accountability have resulted in the World Bank issuing an unprecedented threat to seek legal remedies as contained in the now viral October 21, 2022 warning signed by World Bank Country Director, Pierre Laporte and addressed to embattled Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta in the infamous GALOP heist should not be seen as an isolated case.

Data from the 2021 Annual Report of the Controller and Accountant-General reveals just how much Ghana’s development partners have lost confidence in the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government and particularly in the disastrous Ken Ofori-Atta.

The Annual Report confirms that Total Grants have plummeted sharply from GHS4.21billion in 2020 to GHS1.23billion in 2021.

Below are reactions from Ghanaians:

•We note all these concerns, hoping that any other future government will not repeat the same to be condemned by the next opposition. We cannot vouch that the NDC didn’t experience or indulge in any such lapse during its previous regime. It is therefore not enough to just point out the issues today.

•But the NDC should by now constitute a team to enumerate all the issues or observations they raised during this NPP era and go by a checklist, whenever they come to power, and ensure that none of that is ever repeated. If such pragmatic steps are not given priority now, we surely are likely to experience similar issues, if not worse ones.

• This is the time the opposition has to work with those donor partners to provide development for the local people since they have lost trust in the government.

• May Allah protect you as you work hard to make sure that the right thing is done. I understand you are doing all this to help Ghana have a better economy for you to manage after John Mahama.
