Ghanaians React As Hon Okuzeto Revealed That GHS1.3billion Of Oil Revenues Missing

North Tongu lawmaker, Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has turned social media into a state of butter commenting and confusion as his Facebook post on Ghana’s missing money gets the attention of the mass.

He said: GHS1.3billion of our oil revenues missing as The Auditor-General says he cannot vouch for the “accuracy and completeness of revenue figures” under Ken Ofori-Atta’s watch.

Page 10 of the AG’s 2021 audit report on General Government reveals that whereas Ken’s ministry insists that our 2021 oil revenue (ABFA) was GHS2,061,122,607.00, the Controller and Accountant-General reports GHS3,368,095,788 in its statement of financial performance.

That represents a staggering discrepancy of some GHS1.3billion.

Ken Ofori-Atta should definitely go and quickly he must; however, when he’s gone, we will need a major forensic probe into his entire tenure.

Reactions:

Mere rhetorics, honorable. You write beautifully here on social media to give us hope but nothing is being done in the reality.

Do we have laws that are working and there’s a need to protect them? It’s so heartbreaking to read about these malpractices only to realize that there’s nothing anybody can do in this country.

Not even our lawmakers. Ken must go but Ken will always remain in that office for as long as he wants. Where is the law? Just feel like taking a break from all these. I’m hurt.

Those NDC MPs who approved this man should be ashamed of themselves, after all the noise abt this man in his first term, they still went ahead to approve him.

God bless Hon. Isaac Adongo, Ato Forson, Hon Ablakwa, and the few others who took a principled stand against this man right from the go.
