“Nana, Let Ofori Atta Go, The Only Thing He Has Achieved Is Over-borrowing” -Johnnie Hughes Fumes

Ghanaians seem to be fed up with the whole government machinery due to the unbearable hardships in the country and most subscribe to the decision of the majority of legislators to call for the sacking of the finance minister. They also threatened to boycott Parliamentary proceedings should their request be turned down by the President.

Johnnie Hughes is concerned with this current development and has called into question the competence of Mr.Ken Ofori Atta and inquired as to why he is still at post despite the economic crisis.

Speaking this morning on TV3, the journalist opined that Mr.Ofori Atta left his databank to accept the position of finance minister but has now become an albatross on our neck. Today, his bank serves as a transactional advisor which earns commissions anytime we borrow.

He further elaborated that Ken Ofori Atta was able to leave his private business but doesn’t want to leave the public one when everyone is complaining. To him, the only thing which the finance minister has achieved is over-borrowing and the president must consent to his sacking.

“Why can’t Ken leave when everyone is calling for it. Should he fall sick or something bad happens to him, does it mean we can’t get his replacement,” he quizzed.
