P.K Sarpong, a popular writer for the ruling NPP has asserted that, the Former Deputy Finance Minister, Mona Helen Quartey is crying more than the bereaved in Ken Ofori-Atta’s removal issue.
According to P.K Sarpong, Mona cannot fathom why the Majority MPs have stood down on their demands to have Ken Ofori-Atta immediately replaced.Â
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 29th October 2022, he wrote;
“I fail to understand Mona. The MPs were engaged by the President, he put his views across and after their engagements, it was agreed that Ken should stay to complete the IMF deal.
The understanding of the MPs is that after the IMF deal is reached, the Finance Minister will leave. This makes a lot of sense to the MPs and majority of NPP members.”
Mona can continue to be ‘hurt’. It is not in her place to tell our MPs what they’re to do. Our MPs are doing things on their own volition and convictions and not based upon any pressures from any Minority MPs or people affiliated with the NDC. P.K Sarpong remarked.
According to P.K Sarpong, it is a fact that, Ken has come far with the IMF discussions so the Majority MPs listening to the President on when this Ken Must Go issue should come to an end is in order.Â
He added that, Mona Quartey and her group under the Mahama Presidency were flops. They didn’t do anything better at the Finance Ministry even though there was no major event that affected the global financial system.
“Ken Ofori-Atta leaving is not up to them. It is up to the President and his MPs. The whims, caprices and fancies of Mona Quartey and her party members would not be the driving force behind the decision on Ken.” He concluded.
