“I Agree With Akufo-Addo That Our Armed Forces Must Remain Loyal To The Constitution” – John Mahama

The current economic hardship has propelled some Ghanaians to say that the country can only be managed well with military rules. As a result of this, some Ghanaians are hoping that the Armed Forces in the country will stage a coup against the government and take over the country. This is because these Ghanaians heard what happened in Mali, Guinea, and Burkina Faso when the military stage a coup against the government and took over the country.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has already advised the military that coup d’etat has always set this country backwards. The former President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has thrown his support behind the incumbent president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that military coup d’etat is not a good alternative for Ghana. Speaking at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) yesterday, he advised the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces to remain loyal to the Constitution and the country.

John Mahama spoke on the economy and that things are not going on well with the Akufo-Addo government but military governance is not an option. Some Ghanaians after coming across this statement from John Mahama said that he is just saying this because he has high hope of gaining power in 2024. military gets angry and stages a coup against Akufo-Addo, he will not get the chance to become president again comes January 7th, 2025.

Some Ghanaians also said that they agree with John Mahama; military governance is not a good alternative for this country. Times are hard but a coup d’etat will make things worst for the citizens.
