Premier club Accra Hearts of Oak beat Division One side Liberty Professionals 2-0 in a friendly encounter on Wednesday as they prepare for the weekend league game with Bibiani Gold Stars.
Goals by Kwadjo Obeng Junior and Linda Mtange, helped the Phobians to a comfortable win over the DOL Zone Three side at the Valley View University Field, Oyibi in Accra.
Coach Slavko Matic will be happy with this result as he builds for his first official game in charge of Hearts of Oak on Saturday.
The Phobians, will host Gold Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium in a betPawa Premier League Matchday Four fixture they will look to win.
Hearts of Oak, are winless in their opening three matches of the campaign, and we’re also bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup competition by Malian side AS Real Bamako at the first hurdle.
Coach Matic, was soon appointed helmsman after those setbacks, replacing Samuel Boadu, and he will look to open his account with a win.
Hearts of Oak will be favourites to collect the three points against a Gold Stars side that has fared poorly on their travels since joining the Ghanaian top-flight league last season.
They will hope the win over Liberty Professionals in yesterday’s game, spurs them on for a win as they go into battle on Saturday afternoon in front of their home fans.
This fixture, will be broadcast live on television on the StarTimes Adepa TV Channel 247 worldwide, with kick-off time set for 3:00pm local time.
