Ex-Ghana winger, Yaw Preko has hailed the U-23s first leg AFCON winner over Mozambique.
The Black Meteors under the tutelage of ex-Black Stars striker, Ibrahim Tanko defeated Mozambique 2-1 in the first fixture of the qualifiers in Maputo on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored a brace from the spot to hand Ghana a huge advantage going into the reverse fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Preko who played with the U-23 in their bronze medal winning feat at the 1992 tournament in Barcelona, spoke to Adamu Muftawu of Radio Gold Talk Sport.
“Of course to go away and score two goals, it shows that it’s a sign of a good team.
“So I believe they will be on it but they won’t be complacent when they play them here.
“Anything at all can happen, the job is still not yet done.
“And I believe Tanko [Ibrahim] and his technical team, they will finish them up and then wait for the next hurdle.” Yaw Preko told Radio Gold Talk Sport.
