My Father Was In Coma For Two Weeks Before He Died – A.B. Crentsil Junior Opens Up

The fourth child of the legendary musician who was named after him, A.B. Crentsil, has opened up on some circumstances surrounding the death of his father.

It can be recalled that sometime in July, news had it that the Legendary A.B. Crentsil had passed on. That sent chills down the spine of many music lovers and Ghanaians as a whole, since his death came as big shock. We never heard that he was sick or anything of that sort, only to be served with news of his passing. Denizens home and abroad couldn’t wrap their heads around it. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace.

In an interview with Zion Felix which has been posted on his YouTube channel, A.B. Crentsil Junior has voiced out on some circumstances surrounding the passing away of his beloved father. According to him, twelve days before the incident he was quite fit. He was scheduled to play a show abroad with his band and so went to the American embassy to secure visas for the band members.

Whiles there he felt weak all of a sudden and so requested a chair to sit on. Unfortunately, he passed out before the chair came. He was then rushed to the hospital behind the embassy. Doctors attended to him, but had to be transferred to a bigger hospital since his condition was getting worse.

He continued that whiles in the hospital, his father went into coma and could never be revived until after close to two weeks. That was too daunting a situation for someone who only a few days before was seeking visas for his bandsmen to enable them play a show abroad. All of a sudden, all his plans and schedules had been crushed as a result of circumstances beyond anyone’s control.

There is a saying that man proposes but God disposes. Clearly, we may have our plans and schedules, but no man can tell what life has in store for them.

A.B. Crentsil Junior further narrated that after close to two weeks, his father came back from coma, but his speech was slow. And so they prayed and believed that he was going to be well. But unfortunately, on the 13th of July news came out that his father had died. According to him, the news got to the public even before the family was called and informed officially.

A.B. Crentsil Junior has described the situation as a very painful experience. Of course it is very painful to lose a loved one who is so close and dear. It is difficult to accept that reality, but death is a path that each and every person will take someday and no one knows when and how that will be, and so it is imperative to prepare for same whiles one lives. May the soul of Legendary A.B. Crentsil continue to rest in perfect peace.
