I Had To Spit And Rinse My Mouth With Water—Dabo Recounts How He Acted A Kiss Scene With A Smoker

Popular Nigerian film actor Jibola Dabo has spoken up about his life and work in the industry, as well as the difficulties he faced as a child.

As reported by Punch News, Jibola Dabo made this claim in an interview with Emmanuel Ojo.

Before starting first grade in Owo, Ondo State, I dabbled in acting (but not professionally). The fact that I was Samson from the Samson and Delilah tale helped me gain popularity at the time. In 1963, that happened. The man had finally broken his silence.

When describing his family’s financial situation, he made it apparent that they were neither extremely poor nor extremely well off. When he was eleven years old, his father died, and he said he had to start working weekends at a construction site to help support his mother.

In addition, Jibola Dabo shared that he was the third kid of a family of six and the second son.

In the course of the discussion, he let slip that he had once been in a filming scenario where he was required to kiss a man; unfortunately for him, the man was a smoker.

One of the quotes attributed to him read: “I loathe cigarettes and smoking and I can’t even stand it.”

A kissing scene in a film he was in required him to act, but the man he was supposed to make out with was a smoker.

I wanted to kiss him all day, but every time I got close, the director yelled, “Cut!” I needed to get some fresh air and spit, so I walked outdoors. The man spoke.

Several people had called him after seeing him act out the scene to inquire how he felt about kissing a man, he said.
