The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, his Excellency Dr. Mahammud Bawumia has donated a brand new police pick-up to the Tuna Police Station in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency of the Savannah region of Ghana.
This was in fulfilment of a promise he made to the people of Tuna after he personally commissioned a water system on the 10th day of October, 2022 that is when he visited the Tuna town during his savannah region tour and true to his words the people of Tuna received the said pick-up on the 12th of October, 2022.
In a short ceremony at Tuna, the District Chief Executive of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, Honourable Lonsina Barikisu on behalf of the Vice President handed over the brand-new pick-up to the police officers at Tuna police station.
The chief inspector at the Tuna police station, Mr Daniel Kutsienyo received the Van and promised to put it in good use to improve the security situation in the community, its environs and the District as a whole.
The chief priest of Tuna, Siayo kipo Mwiri on behalf of the Tunawura, the elders and the entire Tuna community expressed their profound gratitude to the Vice President of the republic of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party government for the immerse support shown to the people of Tuna.
The Constituency Nasara coordinator, Abu Kasim on behalf of the Constituency Executive Committee thanked the Vice President for the donation and wish him well in all his endeavors.
The Tuna community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District has been a major area that is hardly hit with crimes cases like robberies and kidnapping acts in recent times. Therefore this gesture by the second gentle man in Ghana will help the police in the area to tackle the menace of robberies and kidnapping cases in Tuna and other nearby communities.
