The man of God noted that if all the chiefs can allegedly wake up and criticize the level in which galamsey is destroying our environment, the menace would be curbed.
Speaking to the correspondent in an interview, the clergy said Asantehene was in right direction when he recently cautioned chiefs to stop involving themselves in the illegal mining activities.
According to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II chiefs are part of the galamsey activities in the country.
As he cautioned chiefs especially those in the Ashanti Region to sideline themselves from the practice or they would risk facing his (Asantehene) wrath.Â
Rev David Armstrong stated that Asantehene allegedly went ahead to draw government attention to take actions against the officials who engage themselves in the illegal mining.
Asantehene further allegedly described the government fight against the galamsey as a failure because innocent people were arrested in the menace.
To create the impression that government was on course to halt the practice.
But Rev David Armstrong praised the King of Ashanti and said Otumfuo’s admonitions must serve as a lesson for all Ghanaians.
 To help in the fight against the activities of the illegal mining in the country.
Rev David Armstrong on this note charged the traditional authorities to emulate the habit of Otumfuo.
And speak against the operations of the illegal mining activities in the country without fear or favor for the benefit all Ghanaians.
Otherwise our continuous silence would contribute to turn our country into a desert land the man of God concluded.
