The former radio presenter of a Kumasi based privately owned radio station Solid 103.7 fm, Mr Akwasi Gyataba has declared his intentions to drag the Minister of Energy to court.
Gyataba said his decision was as a result of the Energy Minister Hon Mattew Opoku Prempeh’s allegations that some Kumasi journalists have been taken bribes.
And resorting to make the government unpopular in the Ashanti region.
Gyataba reiterated that Hon Mattew Opoku Prempeh also known as Napo made the à ssertion at Kumasi Suame when President Nana Akuffo Addo was cutting sod to start the Suame Interchange project
During his recent four days official visit to the region.
According to the journalist the Minister though failed to mentioned the particular journalist who was alleged to have been taken bribe.Â
It is important such journalist should be exposed to serve as a deterrent to other journalists who have the intentions to accept bribes and blackmail innocent people.
Naming that journalist he bemoaned, would help the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association to apply the professional ethics to sanctions that person, Gyataba indicated.
My court decision is also aimed at ensuring that journalists abide by the ethics of the profession to enhance sanity in the job at all times.
Therefore having no alternative hence my intended court action against the Minister to enable him take prove his case.
I am also ready to discontinue my intended court decision if the Minister retracts his statement.
 Gyataba told the correspondent in an interview today.
