Most of the commentary around the George Boateng BeIN punditry hasn’t been fair to him. This guy has been doing punditry for BeIN since 2014. The latest agreement is for him to join them if or when Ghana exits the competition. Nothing wrong with that.
But most people are trying to make us believe he will be shuffling between training the team and doing punditry. Do Ghanaians think that’s possible?Â
Also, he hasn’t ‘withdrawn’ from anything. He wasn’t going to combine the Ghana job and the punditry in the first place. The non-contextual reportage made it seem like that and people bashed him for it. He will still join the BeIN for the rest of the tournament if Ghana exits.
Also, his agreement with BeIN isn’t from this year. He has been working with them since 2014. The arrangement is based on availability. If he’s not available, he’s not. Nothing happens. If he is, then he is. I don’t get the fuss to be honest.
