Dr. Eric Nkansah is appointed as Director-General of GES by President Akufo-Addo.
The Ghana Education Service’s new Director-General has been named by President Akufo-Addo Dr. Eric Nkansah (GES). He oversaw the tertiary division of the ministry and acted as the technical adviser to the minister of education. In a letter dated Monday, October 17, the Presidency made this claim. Nana Bediatuo Asante, the President’s Secretary, signed the letter.
In part of the letter, it was stated, “I am pleased to inform you that the resident has appointed you to act as the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (the Service), pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Council of the Service, given in consultation with the Public Service Commission.
Dr. Eric Nkansah has fourteen days to either accept or reject his appointment as the new GES Director-General.

Since his 2012 entrance, he has significantly contributed to the expansion of the university (in the areas of teaching, research, program creation, etc.). Before attending college, he spent more than five years as the sales manager at the Krofrom branch of Barclays Bank of Ghana (now Absa).
A graduate of the University of Cape Coast in Ghana and the University of Zululand in South Africa, he holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics and a Ph.D. in Financial Economics (2015–2018). He also holds an MBA in Finance from KNUST Business School in Ghana (2008–2010).
After the sudden sack of Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwaa, the President immediately designated someone to take over.
