Albert Nat Hyde popularly known as Bongo Ideas has reacted to a tweet former President Mahama posted about the young man who unfortunately committed suicide recently in Kasoa on the 14th of October 2022.
The former president tweeted “I returned from a trip to the sad news of Kakra who electrocuted himself. Levels of hardship in Ghana are dire; worst in 3 decades. But suicide is never an answer. Even in the darkest night, there’ll come dawn. The sun will rise again. Let’s be each other’s keeper & keep hope alive”
Bongo Ideas replied to the tweet and told John Mahama to stop using the death of the young man to secure “cheap and basic” political points. He expressed the former president could sympathize with the family of the deceased without portraying himself as a Messiah. He also cautioned that everything should not be about politics.
“Using the death of the young man to score political points is cheap and basic. People still kill themselves even in better economies. You can sympathise with the family without necessarily trying to come across as the Messiah. Everything shouldn’t be about politics!” – Bongo Ideas.
Though some questioned the audacity of Albert Nat Hyde to make such a reply to the former president, many Twitter users agreed with the views in his submission.
