Wei Ye Oteng- a popular Ghanaian producer has shot down an assertion made by Bulldog who strongly opined recently on the radio that Black Sherif’s debut album, The Villain I Never Was’ would surpass that of Shatta Wale and Sarkodie.
Days ago, Bulldog- the former manager of Shatta Wale who also happens to be a regular pundit on United (UTV) and Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz was of the opinion that Blacko could surpass his senior colleagues owing to his affiliation with Empire .
“We have three of our artistes releasing… Black Sherif just released, Sarkodie will release in a few days and Shatta Wale will release. “Black Sherif will do better than all of them.
Because if you look at the numbers, Black Sherif has a label, Shatta Wale is about to compete with Empire, Sarkodie is about to compete with empire and they don’t have the strength.

Both two artistes don’t have the strength when it comes to reach so Black Sherif will probably be on top unless some miracle — Bullgod stated in the studios of Hitz FM.
However, Wei Ye Oteng said the tendencies of industry players pitching artistes against each is the reason why we are not catching up with our Nigerian counterparts on the international space.

“It started from some of our industry players who sit on big platforms pitting artistes against each other. The other time, I heard artiste manager, Bulldog, say Black Sherif’s latest album would do better than those of Shatta Wale and Sarkodie.
“That was a no no for me. You don’t say that on radio. How would the other two artistes feel? We should be able to push our musicians at the same time”, he said in an interview with Graphic recently.
