Manchester United are set to offer a record fee for the signature of Barcelona’s Frankie De Jong.
The midfielder was one of the priority targets for new coach Erik Ten Hag but a deal for the player did not materialize due to the player’s desire to stay at the Camp Nou.
According to sources, that stance could change as the player is currently being used as a substitute player. He has made less appearance for the Spanish giants and will be ready to listen to offers should the situation remain the same.
De Jong was also a subject of interest to Chelsea and the blues are ready to offer a similar amount to what Manchester United will offer should he make himself available.
The Red Devils are also monitoring Napoli’s Milinkovic Savic with a fee of 50 million being the requested fee from Lazio’s president.
Currently, United are happy with their midfield players and will only make additions at the end of the season. Â
