Savannah Records, management of promising female Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Alapta Wan has explained why their artiste has not been nominated in this year’s Upper East Awards.
The organizers of the exciting Upper East music awards scheme, Happy Man Man Bitters – Upper East Awards, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, announced the nominees for their 2022 (5th) edition.

The awards scheme is initiated to celebrate upper east musicians and industry personalities and also to boost their careers, and give them exposure.
However, Alapta Wan born Felicity Nketia who has been part of the scheme since its inception and has won the award for the ‘Reggae/Dancehall artiste’ category three consecutive years name was missing out on the nominees.
After the list of nominees was published, ardent followers of the multiple award-winning singer who felt her absence reached out to the singer and her management to register their displeasure on not seeing their favorite on the list.

In response to the questions, the management has released a statement to state why their artiste is not part of this year’s scheme.
According to the Savannah Records, though they have worked hard in the year under review, they felt they weren’t ready to be part of this year’s edition.

They believe they are putting in much work and will return next year. They also used it as an opportunity to congratulate all those who have made it to the nominee’s list this year.
