President Akufo-Addo has been touring parts of the Ghana for some months now. Last Sunday he visited some areas in the Ashanti Region and has been seen commissioning projects and cutting sods as well. Despite these developments, the economic situation of the country has placed the President in a bad light for many people. There have been calls for a reshuffling or sacking of some non-performing ministers of the president.
On TV3’s New Day show today, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, Fred Agbenyo, a member of the NDC Communications Team and Titus Glover, a former MP for Tema east clashed over the performance of Akufo-Addo’s government. According to Fred Agbenyo, President Akufo-Addo has shown to the whole world that he is not fit for the job. He boldly insisted that Akufo-Addo is too old for the job and needs to resign.
This comment didn’t go down too well with Roland Walker, who was sitting in for Johnnie Hughes. According to Roland Walker the comments used by Fred were in bad state and insulting to the president. Roland then asked Fred to retract those comments of the President being old and unfit to rule. Fred Agbenyo refused to retract and insisted.
This got many talking on the Facebook page of TV3. Many questioned where Johnnie Hughes was and called for him to come back and handle the show. In a series of comments, many questioned what was causing Roland to tell the NDC panelist to retract since many come into the studio and make worse statements about the president. For some few days now Roland Walker has been handling The Big Issue part of New Day and some people are clearly not happy with his way of handling the matters that are discussed. It is yet to be known why Berla Mundi and Johnnie Hughes have been missing from the newspaper discussion session of the award winning programme.
