Former Ghana International Anthony Baffoe Tips Black Stars To Go Past Group Stage At FIFA World Cup

Former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe has baked the Black Stars to get out of the group stage at the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana will be taking part in a fourth Mundial in November and December this year with the Black Stars paired in a tough group that includes Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

However, Anthony Baffoe believes the Black Stars will come out of this group unscathed, and qualify to the next round of the competition in Qater.

“Ghana has a good technical team, a talented squad and the additional players who were born abroad,” he said.

“I believe if we get our act together, have unity and good we can do something,” he told the media.

The former defender added: “It’s not an easy group but by God’s grace, we will do everything possible to get to the next stage.”

Connoisseurs of the game, have however tagged it almost impossible for Ghana to get out of this group at the Mundial considering the opposition they will face in Asia.

Ghana coach Otto Addo is preparing to name his provisional squad for the tournament, with the final selection expected to be announced by November 14, six days before the competition starts.

The Black Stars will look to beat the record they set at the 2010 event in South Africa, where they reached the quarter final stage of the tournament.
