Dr. Kwame Asiedu Sarpong is a Pharmacist and Research Fellow at CDD-Ghana has commented that Ghanaians gave mandate to Dr. Bawumia and he has moved the cedi rate 1 dollar to GHC 3.7 in 2016 to GHC13 in 2022.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, 18th October 2022, he wrote;
“We were on these streets when Dr Bawumia held lectures upon lectures on the woes of the Cedi. Then, it wasn’t speculation. We gave him the mandate to fix it and he has moved the rate from $1 to GHC3.7 to GHC13.
Now you claim to post on the Cedi depreciation is speculation. Like seriously, what do you call what went on in the era of John Mahama, praise singing?”
Dr Kwame Aseidu Sarpong argued that, the problem this country has is partisanship. Those who joined Bawumia to tell us about the recklessness of the Cedi in 2015 are today trying to tell us posting about the Cedi is speculative.
He added that If you see cognitive dissonance on your way tell it to make its way to Ghana. We need a lecture on disingenuity.
