Nana Abena Konadu, a resident of Jacobu opened up on how her brother defrauded her after he promised to help her daughter get a job. According to the woman her brother name Kwabena Yeboah came to pay him a visit, after chatting with him, the man revealed to her that he is working with a fire service officer who is willing to help him to get recruited into the security service, he made a promise to her that he wants to give that job offer to her daughter.
The woman claimed that since he was her brother, she had never suspected Yeboah to be a fraudster. He requested Ghc 3,100 which he would give to the officer. Nana Konadu said she had no money at that time but she went for a loan at the bank and gave it to her brother. Although Yeboah allowed her to speak to the officer, he assured them that his daughter would be called for an interview, but they waited patiently for weeks without receiving a call from him.
A few days later, her brother sent the child to an old office, he insisted that the building is the main office of the officer she spoke with. Her daughter was curious so she asked those staying around that place about that office but they all told her that the office has been closed for years. It was at that point where they realized that Yeboah has defrauded her. She got furious and asked him to return the money, but he again lied to her that the officer was sick and has been admitted at the hospital.
They hoped the man would recover, few days later Yeboah then told them of the officer’s death which was not true. Nana Konadu said after this incident her brother also left the house and never returned again. His cell phone too is switched off his phone. Nana Konadu added that she had to work hard and pay the loan. She then tried to get her brother arrested but her other siblings begged her to be patient and promised to advised him to pay back her money but to date she hasn’t received any money from him yet.
