Usher and Chris Brown are perpetually and regularly pitted against one another since they are the two top R&B heavyweights of the twenty-first century.
This is why a video of Usher paying homage to his junior colleague during a recent performance in which Chris Brown was featured has gone viral online.
At his residency performance in Las Vegas, Breezy performed as a special guest. Before Chris Brown departed the stage during his guest performance at the MGM Grand, which included the songs; “Back to Sleep (Remix),” “Heat,” and “Under the Influence,” Usher made sure to give him his roses in front of the thousands of spectators.
“I love you, for life. You are great. You’re a legend,” Usher told Breezy. “We love you and gon’ continue to keep uplifting you, bro. I love you more.”
On Friday, October 14, Usher received a surprise 44th birthday celebration from Amazon Music at Sin City’s Nomad Library.
Along with Chris Brown, other celebrities like Jermaine Dupri, Floyd Mayweather, and Anita Baker also made an appearance.
Fans have long wished for Usher and Chris Brown to face off on the Verzuz stage, but Chris Brown only sees it as a fit if it’s more of a celebration than a fight.
“They want me to do it with Usher,” he said last year. “It only makes sense, but it’s got to make more sense. I can’t act like he ain’t a pioneer as well– that’s Usher. I think it would be something good for the fans.”
