Former Elite Division campaigners in the Ghana football pyramid WAFA, have won their first game of the season in the ongoing DOL league.
The Academy lads, defeated Elmina Sharks 1-0 today (Tuesday), in an encounter played at the Nduom Sports Stadium in the Central region.
In the three matches so far played by WAFA in the second tier league, they have won one, drawn one and lost the other as they chase promotion back to the topflight league after being relegated last season.
This encounter, was the last of the Zone Two fixtures that started last weekend.
In other matches played, Steadfast FC drew 2-2 with Eleven Wonders in Zone One with Wa Yassin losing 2-3 at home to Wa Suntaa SC.
In the same Zone, Maana SC won 1-0 at home to Debibi United; Berekum Arsenal lost 0-1 at home to Baffour Soccer Academy with Unity FC also losing 0-1 to B. A. United at home.
Bofoakwa Tano posted a 2-0 home win over Nkoranza Warriors as Mighty Royals lost 1-2 at home to Young Apostles.
In Zone Two, Kenpong Academy drew 1 – 1 with Swedru All Blacks; Nations FC scored a 1 – 0 victory over Skyy FC with Sefwi All Stars drawing 1 – 1 with Ebusua Dwarfs.
Nzema Kotoko drew goalless with New Edubiase United; Basake Holy Stars won 2 – 1 against Pacific Heroes; Future Stars posted a 1 – 0 home win over Asokwa Deportivo with Asekem FC drawing 1-1 with Soccer Intellectuals.
The Zone Three action saw Attram De Visser beating Na God FC 1-0; Vision FC drew 1-1 with Liberty Professionals; with Golden Kicks FC winning 3-0 over A5 Rences FC.
Krystal Palace lost 0-1 to Akatsi All Stars; Volta Rangers drew 1-1 with Tema Youth SC, Mighty Jets drew goalless with Heart Of Lions as did Uncle T United and Susubiribi SC.
