A Plus – Bawumia Has No Moral Right To Be President When 1 Dollar Is 12 Cedis

Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus, has asserted that, Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has no moral right to be President when one dollar is equivalent to 12 Ghana cedis.

Speaking on UTV showbiz, last Saturday, A Plus said that many youth in NPP have wised up now. “They understand that it is their party but but we have to criticize them. So that is why I say NPP isn’t for anybody for someone to remove somebody from it. I can join NPP today and decide to stop and join again the next day.”

He added that, he and others campaigned for NPP to win power and so it is their duty to criticize the government if things ain’t going well. “It is our duty to tell Bawumia that he has no moral right to be president when the 1 dollar is 12cedis”.

Background

A Plus comments comes as a background to the free fall of the Ghana cedis which has led to it’s massive depreciation. In 2016, 1 dollar was equivalent to 3.72cedis but it is now 12 Cedis. The government has defended that, the cedi fall is as a result of the Covid-19 impact and the Russian -Ukraine war. Others believe it’s because of mismanagement from the government.
