He we go again, the issue of illegal mining has generated a lot of debate regarding how it can be tackled and solved once and for all. All the measures put in place to curb the menace have yielded no results and the suggestions by experts are much ado about nothing.
Speaking today on “Onua Maakye,” morning show, the journalist indicated that this will be his last time to talk about illegal mining also known as “galamsey.” He opined that we have spiritualized everything in this country and instead of naming and shaming those behind this selfish act and allowing the law to deal with them, Pastors are praying to God.
The gentleman continued by saying that attitudinal change is what we need as a country. No amount of prayer can stop galamsey until leadership sincerely make up their mind to change. It is clear that the politicians are the main people behind it, why not face reality and tell them in the face to stop their greediness and stop destroying the environment?
He proposed during the newspaper review segment that he needs only 200 soldiers with three helicopters and within 21 days will bring this illegal mining to an end.Â
“My approach will be shoot to kill and that will stop galamsey and if I fail, bury me alive. Even in America, when you jumped traffic lights you will be shot dead,” he concluded.
