The residents of Dunkwa Compound, suburb of Dunkwa On Offin in the Central Region were taken aback on Friday October 14 2022 when they came across an alleged unknown old man at the compound.
The mission of the old man whose name was not mentioned was later suspected to be a burglar or rapist.
According to the residents the said old man could be in the age group of either 50 or 55.
Per the information we filed the man was spotted at the area at about 5.30 am on the fateful day.
Stressing that taking him for a strangers, nobody decided to enquire about his mission there.
According to reports, a woman who had locked up her room to enable her take her bath only returned back to see that someone had broken into her room.
Out of panic the female resident Madam Afia Mensah was said to have craned her head into the room only to see the old man sitting on her bed.
The woman alleged that when she tried to raise an alarm the man bent to attack her.
But her shouts for help attracted neighbors who rescued her.
The suspect was said to have been questioned about his mission there but he hardly gave reasonable answers to justify his actions.
He also allegedly failed to mention his name and where he came from.
And the man’s behavior allegedly gave the residents a clear evidence that he might be a burglar and rapist who found his way to Dunkwa Compound to carry out his activities.
The old man was later beaten up to the pulp after which some good Samaritans rushed him to the hospital to seek medical attention.
