A Kumasi based renowned reggae musician Mr Jackson Elvis Etuah has disclosed that insulting the President of the republic, Nana Akuffo Addo cannot help solve the challenges confronting the economy.
Instead it is a collective responsibilities of all Ghanaians to come together and find a lasting solutions to them.Â
Reacting to what he described as an unconstructive criticisms against the president over the economic crisis, Mr Etuah said the citizens need to show respect to the authorities.
The reggae musician alleged that it is very common these days to hear how people wrongfully critizise the president and go unpunished.Â
Jackson however conceded the fact that the country is facing economic crisis.
But there is the need for the citizens to stay focused and trace the sources of the problems and find solutions to them.
He stressed that to go to the extent of pushing the blame on the President and his Ministers alone is something that can beat ones imagination.
Mr Elvis Etuah who also doubles as the Managing Director of the Modern Films And Entertainment Network bemoaned that part of the economic crisis emerged through the COVID-19 pandemic.
That allegedly drained the coffers of the country through the fight against it.
But regretted that Ghanaians have soon forgot the financial interventions that government offered to number of business communities and traders to revive their businesses.
That was not all, the musician further mentioned free food, power and water provisions that the government supplied to Ghanaians during the days of the pandemic.
Jackson Elvis Etuah indicated that the aforementioned government expenditures contributed to the current crisis which the country finds itself.
The above free government expenditures the musician said excluded drugs import for the pandemic and teachers salaries for over one year.
Therefore if there is problem in the country we have to come together and find solutions to them.
And avoid pushing the blame on the President and his cabinet Ministers.
Jackson Elvis Etuah said he though not resisting Ghanaians from sharing their opinions on national issues.
But he believes in constructive criticism devoid of hatred.
Having expressed his opinion the reggae musician also urged the leaders to be proactive to solve the challenges confronting the country.
This is because as leaders of the country, the citizens would push the blames on them if they noticed that the economic indicators does not favor them.Â
