A political lecturer at the University of Ghana Professor Ransford Gyampo has hinted that labour will advice itself and we will all see how National Labour Commission (NLC) will become powerful overnight to deal with labor.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday , 11th October 2022, he wrote;
“The government varies conditions of service of labor without consulting them. Labor reports this to NLC but NLC is unable to deal with government. Labor will advice itself. Let’s see how suddenly the NLC becomes powerful in dealing with labor.”
Prof Gyampo lamented that they know times are hard. But what do they do when reps of government lack the competence to engage in explaining the realities in a manner that elicit labor sacrifice even while others enjoy in times of hardship?
The comments of Prof comes as a background to UTAG threat that they will emback on strike if their condition of service is not renewed. If negotiations from government fails, then it’s likely UTAG may embark on strike on Thursday.
