The paramount chief of the Ashanti kingdom, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has cautioned chiefs selling the lands of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School despite being asked to be only caretakers
Joining the 85th-anniversary celebration of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School(OKESS) on Saturday, October 8, 2022, Otumfour Osei Tutu II expressed worry about the greediness of some of the chiefs who want to take advantage of the school property.
As an old student and a special guest of honor gracing the event, he encouraged the students to undertake and take the studies of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics(STEM) seriously.
He also cautioned chiefs involved in selling school lands to desist from the act reminding them of their caretaker role and not owners.
The anniversary marked on the theme “85 years of holistic education, the OKESS story” saw in attendance the Deputy Minster of Education, Hon. Dr. Ntim Fordjour, Ashanti Regional Minster, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, Works and Housing Minister and MP for Bantama, Hon. Asenso Boakye, the Headmaster, Mr. Michael Mensah, Staff, Students, Past Students (Ahenemma), and Heads of the various Senior High Schools among others.
