Roland Walker sat in for Johnnie Hughes today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 on TV3’s The Big Issue. Roland moderated the show that saw Ernest Kumi, the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Akwatia, Bernard Mornah, former Chairman of the People’s National Convention and Murtala Mohammed, the MP for Tamale Central. The 4 discussed matters relating to school feeding and the court proceedings for Agradaa.
As Bernard Mornah addressed issues regarding Kumasi traders closing their shops, Murtala Mohammed and Ernest Kumi were heard arguing about something. At one point, Bernard had to pause and ask the duo if they had finished talking so he continues. Roland Walker then told Murtala that for interrupting he will not get the chance to add his comments to the Kumasi traders boycott story.
As Roland Walker tried to start a new conversation on Agradaa, he said, “there is a big conversation. I know you are a very stubborn man. You will add your opinion on this”. However, before Roland Walker could finish, Murtala Mohammed felt irritated that that the host will call him stubborn on live TV. He questioned the rationale behind that. He asked for a retraction of the statement.
In explanation Roland Walker said he meant no harm. He said he meant to say that Murtala Mohammed is a firm man and stubbornly states his point on issues without minding what others say. Ernest Kumi of the NPP questioned why Roland Walker had to apologize because he felt Murtala Mohammed is indeed stubborn.
However, with Murtala flaring up, Roland Walker apologized for his diction and retracted them. He then solicited for Murtala Mohammed’s comments on how some supposed men and women of God are deceiving innocent people in the name of region.
