Ghana’s Accra Hearts of Oak lost 3-0 to Malian side AS Real Bamako in their African Confederation Cup game this afternoon.
The game was played at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, home of the Malian opposition who took full advantage of this encounter in front of their fans.
This second preliminary round first leg encounter, was dominated by Real Bamako, and they could have scored more as they wasted a host of chances.
Real Bamako, were three goals to the good by the 74th minute, with Hearts of Oak holding on for the reminder of the game to keep the result 3-0 in favour of the home side.
The Malians, now have the advantage going into the return encounter to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium next week Sunday.
Accra Hearts of Oak will look to overturn the result in the Accra game, to advance to the next round of the campaign as they seek to make the group stage of the competition.
The Phobians, are the only remaining team representing Ghana in continental action this season after the exist of Asante Kotoko from the African Champions League last month.
